Leith Hill MTB Trails

I’ll list below some of the more popular “proper” mountain bike trails on Leith Hill, including my rating and GPS coordinates where I remember to grab them. You can see a map of offiial trails here.

Remember that Leith Hill is National Trust/Forrestry Commission/private land and, as such, you should keep to rights of way open to cyclists & dedicated MTB trails and keep off footpaths/unmarked trails.

Name Rating Length Start End
Crooked Furrow, Regurgitator & Waggledance 3* tbc Lat: 51.189706 N, Lon: 0.357328 W
[Not my favourite trails - there are some fun bits but you seem to being going uphill a lot, plus there is a ridiculously steep part to it (Regurgitator). You can access this trail at many points, but the easiest to explain is to go up Wolverns Lane to the above point which is a clearing, then immediately double back on yourself, trail entrance on the right (once you’ve doubled back) into the woods, parallel to the road you just came up, then follow it round the loop of Cooked Furrow, Regurgitator & Waggledance to end at the same point.
A quick picture showing access to Regurgitator & Summer Lightening from Wolverns Lane.
Summer Lightening 4* tbc Lat: 51.189296 N, Lon: 0.359961 W
[Access from Wolverns Lane – go to the start of Regurgitator (above), then take a left (there should be a signpost pointing you up there. Summer Lightening is a few hundred yards on the right, unfortunately the marker post has rotted and fallen over! Nice flowing singletrack with low bermed corners. Sadly the last part has been cleared…you just don’t get the same thrill from riding across clear ground! When you reach the “end”, either take a right and head back up Wolverns Lane to Coldharbour or follow the tracks (you’ll see where others have been riding) down to almost rejoin Wolverns Lane (but stay parallel to it up on the left bank) for a long gradual descent.
Deliverance 5* tbc You’ll have to explore to find this one, sorry! End is pretty close to the start, just down!
Scary, steep, rooty drop. Has another slightly less scary line and a gap jump if you’re feeling brave! Not sure about the situation regarding access rights to this, so I’ve not included the location, sorry.

The Quarry 3* tbc Lat: xx.xxxxxx N, Lon: x.xxxxxx W
[View on Google Maps]
No end point – just an area.
More suited to dirt jumpers and big hits/drops than to XC riders. Sorry, my iPhone got this completely wrong! I’ll have to go back and get the coords.
“Dippers” Area 3* tbc Lat: 51.176975 N, Lon: 0.374697 W
[Good fun area to mess around in near the top of Leith Hill.
